Dr. Timothy Walker 3.00 pm

Members’ lecture meeting. Guests are welcome to attend up to two meetings before becoming members.

Timothy Walker, Director of Oxford Botanic Garden, is well known to many members, but for our welcome new members, here’s a bit of background. Having read Botany at Oxford, he worked for two years as a trainee gardener in the university’s botanic garden. His work and studies subsequently took him to Askham Bryan College, York, The Savill Garden, Windsor, and to Kew, before he returned to the Oxford Botanic Garden in 1986 as ‘Horti Praefectus’, later becoming Director. It was here that his love affair with euphorbias began and he now holds a National Collection of the genus. Widely travelled in the pursuit of plants, immensely knowledgeable and an excellent communicator, we can expect a lively and informative afternoon.

As usual at our lecture meetings there will also be:

Plant display - Plant sale - Seed exchange - Book sale - Raffle - Teas

Theme for this month’s plant display -Seasonal colour
