Although Graham always had an interest in gardening, he started his professional career in classical music as a tenor. However, after an inspirational trip to Sissinghurst Castle he decided to change tack and found a position working for Elizabeth Strangman at Washfield Nursery, where he stayed for 16 years. In 1988 he established his own nursery, Marchants Hardy Plants in Sussex. As well as life as a nurseryman, Graham is also involved in garden design, consultations, photography and travel to observe plants in their native habitats. Find out more on Marchant’s website.

The AGM will follow Graham’s talk.

As usual at our lecture meetings there will also be:      Plant display – Plant sale – Seed exchange – Book sale – Raffle – Teas
