Kevin Hughes
Headcorn Village Hall, TN27 9NR
Sunday 27 November 2016, 2.30pm

Members’ lecture meeting. Guests are welcome to attend up to two meetings before becoming members.
Members £3 Guests £5

With a keen interest in natural history, Kevin initially trained in ecology, spending 15 years studying the Dartford warbler. Eventually the plant bug took over and he spent seven years as head gardener on a 15-acre estate, before moving on to renovating, restoring and then running Spinners Garden and Nursery, where he held a National Collection of Trillium. In 2004 he set up his own nursery, now at Heale House Garden near Salisbury. Here he grows rare and unusual trees and shrubs, especially magnolias, hardy plants, climbers and trilliums. He participates in the RHS Woody Plant Trials and is a member of the Woody Plant Committee.

The AGM will follow Kevin’s talk.

As usual at our lecture meetings there will also be:      Plant display – Plant sale – Seed exchange – Book sale – Raffle – Teas
