This year we are building on the popularity of our March meeting making it an even more enjoyable event for our members and visitors. We have added a photographic competition, which will provide an extra display for members and visitors to admire and we are hoping that members will also contribute to a display of seasonal plants – a Spring Cornucopia.

Indoor Plant Sale 11.30am to 2.00pm
A chance to browse the nursery stalls in indoor comfort. The Plant Sale is open to the public. Details

‘New and less usual shrubs and trees for the British garden’  2.30pm
Speaker: Kevin Hughes
Kevin Hughes is well known to Kent Group members; we have been lucky enough to enjoy several excellent talks by him.
Some of you will also know Kevin from his successful time at Spinners, where he spent more than nine years renovating, restoring and running the garden. There he held the National Collection of Trillium. In 2004 he set up his own nursery, Kevin Hughes’ Plants, now at Heale Garden in Salisbury, which specialises in rare and unusual trees, shrubs (especially magnolias), herbaceous plants, climbers and, of course, trilliums.
The afternoon will no doubt whet our appetite for new season ideas for our gardens.

Members’ lecture meeting. Guests are welcome to attend up to two meetings before becoming members.

Photographic Show
We have had a glorious late summer and autumn and, more recently, there has been ample scope for capturing the effects of snow and hoar frost on our gardens, so look out your best shots, and bring them along on 27 March. Members can find the schedule in the Winter Newsletter

A Spring Cornucopia
We’re hoping to have a glorious display so take a look round your gardens and see what’s looking good and bring it along – the more the merrier.

Add to this a delicious lunch of home-made soup and rolls, tea and coffee in the morning and tea and cake to send you on your way home and you can see it’s an opportunity not to be missed.

As usual at our lecture meetings there will also be: Seed exchange – Book sale – Raffle
