Indoor Plant Fair
Lenham Community Centre
Lenham, near Maidstone ME17 2QT
Sunday 20 March 2016, 11am to 2pm
The plant fair is open to the public with an admission charge of £2.
It’s time once again for our very popular Spring Indoor Plant Fair. It is part of a Special Spring Meeting and will be followed by the afternoon lecture and combined with a photographic competition and our usual plant display.
Lenham provides a great opportunity to browse and buy from nurseries in the comfort of a warm hall. We have a wide variety of nurseries, including Crûg Farm Plants, a nursery in North Wales owned by plant hunters Bleddyn and Sue Wynn-Jones. They will bring just some of the vast range of unusual and rare plants they grow, most of them from seed collected on their many trips all over the world.
There will be a Kent Group plant stall so please bring all your spare plants to sell. Two labels, one with the name of the plant and one with your name and the price, should be included and you’ll receive 75% of the sale. And then you can go and spend it on more fabulous plants!
By March the soil will be warming up and in perfect condition to take new plants – come and find something special.
As well as teas and coffees being available during the morning there will be homemade soup and rolls at lunch time before the lecture, ‘Plant Hunting in Colombia’ by Bleddyn Wynn-Jones, in the afternoon. Details of whole event here.
