Garden Visit – Hill Farm Oast, Yalding
Hill Farm Oast, Yalding
Saturday 4 May 2019, 2.30pm
This event is for members only and must be pre-booked.
This is a six-acre garden facing south-west, with extensive views over orchards and lavender fields. It is planted with a large collection of specimen trees and shrubs, many unusual and rare, including collections of birches, oaks and rare conifers around a large pond. An impressive stumpery is currently under installation, using whole trees as archways spaced along an extensive walk planted with ferns and shade-loving plants. A large slope in front of the house is planted as a dry garden, with yuccas, agaves and succulents, while tree ferns flank a path leading to the greenhouse used to overwinter tender specimens.
There will be a charge of £5 for this visit.
There is a booking form in the Winter 2019 Newsletter.
