The Secret Gardens of Sandwich at The Salutation
Thursday 6 June 2013  10.30am and 2.30pm

This event is for members only and must be pre-booked.

Those of you, who were present at the January lecture, will recall Steve Edney talking about The Secret Gardens at The Salutation, where, as Head Gardener, he has been occupied in attempting to recreate a border in the style of Gertrude Jekyll. Steve has very kindly agreed to take two groups of Kent Group members on a guided tour of the gardens to find out more about the history of The Salutation and the restoration and evolution of the house and gardens.
Steve describes the garden as his ‘plant playground’ and is keen for us to come and meet him and his garden team to ‘talk plants’ and find out how they get the most out of this dynamic garden through the seasons. He also wants to talk about why he considers Edwin Lutyens is an understated garden designer.
