Day trip – The Savill Garden
The Savill Garden, Windsor Great Park
Tuesday 25 June 2019
This event is for members only and must be pre-booked.
This renowned 35-acre garden was created in the 1930s by Sir Eric Savill, with the encouragement of King George V, and has been continually refreshed since then with new landscaping, plantings and displays. It contains many different interconnecting gardens planted in a wonderful mix of styles and dramatic combinations, in a woodland setting.
We will have coffee or tea on arrival, followed by a guided tour lasting about an hour, after which we can explore the garden on our own. Lunch is not included, so please either take a packed lunch or you can eat in the café (at your own expense).
Travel will be by Buzzlines coach with two pick up points, at Postling (around 8.00am) and near Maidstone (around 9.00am). We aim to arrive at the Savill Garden at about 10.30am and leave at 3.00pm. The cost, to include coach travel (with driver’s gratuity) and garden entry, is expected to be no more than £35 per person.
There is a booking form in the Winter 2019 Newsletter.
