Joe Sharman is an expert plantsman who runs Monksilver Nursery in Cambridgeshire. It is noted for snowdrops but also offers many other new and unusual perennials, shrubs, grasses, ferns and bulbs. Joe is a regular at important national garden events and plant fairs, including Chelsea Physic Garden, Great Comp and Great Dixter (as speaker or stall-holder, or both), and has spoken to our Group before. Variegated plants occur in many forms and colourways, and are a useful option in a range of garden situations. In this very interesting talk, Joe will explain the origins and types of variegation in some depth, using slides and demonstration plants. He will also bring plants for sale.
Joe’s talk will be followed by our ever-popular seedling swap – bring along your surplus seedlings and make the most of the chance to acquire and try out seedlings of a huge range of plants, including many unusual ones, all for a minimal charge.

As usual at our lecture meetings there will also be:
Plant display – Plant sale – Seed exchange – Book sale – Raffle – Teas
