Smarden Charter Hall, Smarden, TN27 8NF
Sunday 22 April 2018, 2.30pm

Members’ lecture meeting. Guests are welcome to attend up to two meetings before becoming members.
Members £3 Guests £5

With a keen interest in natural history, Kevin initially trained in ecology, spending 15 years studying the Dartford warbler. Eventually the plant bug took over and he spent seven years as head gardener on a 15-acre estate, before he moved on to renovating, restoring and then running Spinners Garden and Nursery, where he held a National Collection of Trilliums. In 2004 he set up his own specialist nursery, where he grows rare and unusual trees, shrubs, climbers and hardy plants, including magnolias, viburnums, philadelphus, lilacs, trilliums and a large range of shade plants, plus plants for wildlife interest.

Kevin’s talk will be followed by our ever-popular seedling swap – bring along your surplus seedlings and make the most of the chance to acquire and try out seedlings of a huge range of plants, including many unusual ones, all for a minimal charge.

As usual at our lecture meetings there will also be:      Plant display – Plant sale – Seed exchange – Book sale – Raffle – Teas
